Truly recommend doing the chopsticks workshop here. You immediately get the feeling that it is an experienced worker and quality materials all around. The host in very friendly and guides you through the steps, so you end up with a beautiful set of unique chopsticks.

We made amazing chopsticks with our sensei! With the help of google translate we were able to understand that we were working with the best material. The host was explaining every step clearly! And nog we have very personal chopsticks.

Our first day in Kyoto was a bit of a wild ride but nothing topped our chopstick making Experience.

My wife and I were on honeymoon and weren't sure what to expect. The house took us into his lovely machiya and did his best to communicate with us despite his difficulty with English and our difficulty with Japanese.

He was nothing but helpful and guided our experience. It was quite amazing being shown how to shape the chopsticks and polished them into their final product. We ended up passing around our phone with Google Translate and sharing stories which made the experience memorable

What an amazing experience and activity! Making our own chopsticks from 200 year old bamboo has been the highlight of Kyoto for us! Highly recommend when you want to take home a souvenir. Hosts were really lovely and welcoming as well!

This was a really cool experience! We made chopsticks out of 300+ year old bamboo! Our instructor was the nicest man and we was very knowledgeable. He didn’t speak much English and we didn’t speak any Japanese and we were able to communicate using an app on his phone. I would def recommend this experience to anybody coming to Kyoto! He also has a small shop where he sells products he crafts himself out of bamboo and other materials!
